I find this poem to be hilarious because it wasn't written by Laurence Gwynn. Laurence's poetry is nature-based with lots of oceanic imagery, and has sort of a new-age feel to it. I think the person who wrote this poem was trying to keep with the imagery, but made it revolting in a sort of protest against the mood Laurence's poetry creates.
edit: Ok, so maybe I mistook the "Laurence Gwynn" line to be the author, and instead the poem should read "...hairball upon\Laurence Gwynn." I don't know.
A lone sea cat
Patrolled the dunes
ACK ACK ACK
Hairball upon
Laurence Gwynn.
